They do indeed have us in a bind.
However, I'd be really surprised that ~330,000 people could actually live life 100% isolated on their own "island" after the feds cut them off from society. At some point, you either need to purchase more supplies or at a minimum, eventually need medical care and/or medications. I'm thinking it would be less than even 1/100th of 1%.
And, being cut off from society means virtually no ability to "assemble." They will be able to make the playing field about as lopsided as possible. Those isolated will be essentially placed back in the 1700's with all the Paul Revere's not able to ride out into the night while the feds will be able to use all the modern communications, satellites, drones, etc. as needed.
This is, of course, doesn't mention what the feds would do after quarantining them.
They wouldn't do that and then leave them alone.
The feds would surround their little compound with armored vehicles and air support and give those inside 5 minutes to come out with their hands up.
Done. Arrested, charged, convicted and sent to prison for 25 to life for being a "domestic terrorist."
And if those inside don't surrender to the feds, it'd be a Waco redux.
And no...the local sheriff wouldn't be able to stop them.
This is the situation we find ourselves in for being a "fat and lazy" very wealthy nation while letting the rot creep in over the many years.
Far too many of "us" have not been politically active enough, or have simply been too much of a purest and not gone out to vote because those on the ballot were not as conservative as we are.
A republic...if you can keep it, doesn't mean it's only someone else's job or concern.
Damn! That was a good post! I agree, I was too lazy to put in more zeros.
