What difference does it make?
So you opt out of tracking. Facebook’s aggregates an enormous amount of data on people, as does google and others, but facebook is in a unique position to know where you live, work, and who you network with) and they can do almost all of that without using the app itself as a direct conduit. Once you post something, they can cull it out through your networks.
The first explains why for Facebook, this is a potentially huge problem. It touches on some of the same issue the Inc. article does.

But, it's the second video (about 9-min) that's the most interesting as it explains why Google doesn't seem very upset by Apple's move here...because they aren't. At the end of the day, this won't impact Google's business model and might even help.
