If they redid the draft today 90% would not show up.
90% wouldn't qualify! Today's youth are drug addled, obese, and addicted to video games and social media. You try to put them through an obstacle course or teach them how to shoot, and you'll break them.
If they re-institute the draft, the first thing they need to do is eliminate the 2-S exemption for folks post high school.
Better than the draft would be Universal Service. 10 months in the military or 2 years in a labor battalion. Room, board, and necessities and a very small stipend. Full pay and benefits for those who opt for a 2 year hitch - and serve it.
