A focus group is not a poll. It is a small group known to have a strong commonality, in order to gain an explanation of a mutual opinion.
This group were known to be strong Trump voters. They were asked to explain their opinion around both Fauchi and the vaccine and who is trusted or not trusted to reliably present the case for vaccination.
Rand Paul’s exchange with Fauchi hammered the whole issue home. Everyone should hear it. The Paul video was inset in the link article.

There are far more people on this site skeptical of the vaccine than are gung-ho about taking it!! I will NOT be taking it!!

Luntz is the same guy who told 15 Republicans running for the White House in 2016 to STAY AWAY from immigration, because polling is ‘too divisive’. All 15 agreed with him and promised to steer clear of immigration, even though it was the top concern of the Republican base.
The problem was that the 16th person didn’t announce until 2 months later and had better things to do with his time than listen to Frank Luntz.
My issue is that if everyone had the vaccine, they’d just come up with a “new strain” so it’s pretty much pointless.
My take on Fauci is that his act is like that of a baseball team manager on a long losing streak. To some, he might be glib and even likeable, but eventually everybody wants his @ss fired. People don’t want excuses. We get a steady diet of that from Fauci.
I do hold Trump responsible for Fauci on account of those daily crisis news conferences. Fauci & Birx should have been stomped on when they overstepped by commenting on lockdowns and masks wearing. The Left took note. Fauci should have been quickly sidelined or retired.

(In a sane world, his funding super dangerous “gain of function” (bio weapon) research in Wuhan after it was outlawed in the USA would be the story of the century. It’s probably my original perspective that’s still giving me a skewed slant on
this even now.
It isn’t looking to reveal a consensus across a group. It’s looking at a group
that has one, to see why they formed their opinion.
For participation it seems like 10 would be better than 19, but for variety of perspectives (reasons why) it would seem 20 would be better.
