A retired New Jersey teacher who got death threats after editing a President Trump T-shirt out of a high school yearbook has now been awarded a $325,000 settlement from the district, according to a report.
Susan Parsons insisted she was regularly ordered to make edits to photos at Wall Township High School, including making a “Trump Make America Great Again” shirt look like a plain blue one in 2017.
When the alteration sparked outrage, Parsons was set up to “take the blame,” getting suspended and barred from talking to the media, she claimed in a lawsuit filed in May 2019. The school’s yearbook adviser — who said she voted for Trump in 2016 — received hate mail and death threats, her suit claimed.

They got off easy, I would of awarded millions.
I wonder how many obozo t shirts made the yearbook over the years
NDAs don’t matter anymore. Talk to the press, name who ordered the edit.
The problem is that no individual has been held accountable, it would seem. And, it is the taxpayers who will foot the bill.
As I see it, Cindy McChesney, the since retired principal’s secretary who Parsons said ordered the censorship, should be fined 1/10 of her pension income for 5 years, assuming the buck stopped with her. Parsons to get the proceeds.
More to the point, I can’t see that just one person (and a secretary at that!) was responsible for setting up Parsons to “take the blame”, and even more so getting Parsons suspended and barring her from talking to the media. These people (which may well include Ms. McChesney) should also all be fined enough to hurt: 10% of their income for 10 years.
OTOH, I have NO tolerance for those who sent hate mail and especially death threats. Find them, and fine them, heavily.
This should all add up to a tidy sum. First pay off Ms. Parsons’ legal fees, and, any lost wages / compensation plus 20% plus inflation. Remaining $$ to go to production of Trump t-shirts to be delivered to the local Young Republicans Club. :-)
It’s criminal that the insurance company (which means the taxpayers) paid this. This needs to come out of the pocket of the individuals themselves. Garnish their wages/retirement benefits if necessary.
