Babcock explained the censure resolution directed Alaska Republicans to do everything in their power to ensure Murkowski is not re-elected.
“It went further than censure, which was strong,” Babcock said. “But it also directed the party officials to recruit an opponent in the election and to the extent legally permissible, prevent Lisa Murkowski from running as a Republican in any election.”
The resolution states:
Resolved that under Alaska Republican Party Rules, Article 1, Section 4 (f) 4, the Party hereby will recruit a Republican primary challenger to oppose and prohibit Senator Murkowski from being a candidate in any Republican primary to the extent legally permissible.

Seeing as how she was primaried once and won in a write in campaign I can’t see this really doing much.
If she gets the nomination our recourse is to win 5-6 more seats-unlike. She’s bad news when it’s 50-50.
It could be fun Election where all the ‘Rats vote for Murky and all Trump voters vote for the ‘Rat.
In the final analysis, electing a Democrat to ensure the Swamp is made aware that there was no cult of Trump. There was a cult demanding built the wall, drain the swamp, and America first in all things. Any candidate who backstabs that agenda has to go, regardless of the replacement.
Lessons must be learned.
They could only stop a senator from running for reelection on in a party if they didn’t fund her.
If Alaska GOP is serious, not just going thru the motions, the GOP
MUST enact a sore loser rule or law. If you lose the GOP Primary
you cannot run a write in or run as an Independent in the General
Election.

White Supremacist, Insurrectionists All...
She is such an embarrassment in the senate. I believe replacing her is necessary
I’m concerned that Lisa Ann may walk across the aisle any day now, giving the GOP the finger as she votes to eviscerate the filibuster.
Correct. And she knows it - that’s why her occasional dog biscuits being thrown to conservatives stopped.
Moreover, this resolution is just talk - because there will be no further party primaries in Alaska. There will be one jungle primary with the top 4 finishers advancing to the general election - so no further danger to her not being on the ballot.
The Alaska Republican Party does not have the authority to enact legally binding legislation.
But it matters even less since there is no longer a GOP Primary in Alaska. Jungle primary with top four finishers advancing to the general election. She will almost certainly be on the ballot.
We are the ones that would "learn the lesson" in that scenario while the loser rakes in millions as a lobbyist.
She wasn’t in 2010. She still won.
We need to run MAGA dems in their primaries. Heck, some might win. Imagine a MAGA dem wins in some of those automatic blue congressional seats. We could have a MAGA coalition which crosses the aisle.
Didn’t she lose a primary?
Get rid of her please.
It may take several elections. They’ll need an attractive candidate who is in it for the long haul. A Trump supporting person with the tenacity of a Stacy Abrams.
I don’t think “legally permissible” passes the lips of the avg. Democrat voter very often, why should it trouble you?
