This is what you get with a bureaucracy without any oversight. Our legislature (national and state) have more or less turned over much of their job to bureaucrats that make up the rules and regulations we all must live by. Our elected officials say it is not their problem, but it is.
In a Republic only the people’s representatives should be allowed to make up the rules and regulations so that the people have a voice (by kicking them out of office if they go insane). But how do you recall a bureaucrat? All the power and no responsibility.
