AR-15 is actually great hunting rifle. So is SKS and even AK-47. None of them are suitable for street crime.

What was the weapons classification of yesteryear? Ranch gun? A lightweight rifle of suitable power to knock down medium-sized predators and the occasional deer? That’s basically an AR-15 or an SKS.
