Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is quietly maneuvering to field a slate of GOP Senate candidates in critical battleground states, attempting to avoid a repeat of election cycles a decade ago when candidates emerged from primaries only to implode and deny his party the chance to take back the majority.
This time around, the wily Kentucky Republican has a high-spending super PAC and he’s prepared to use it.
With 20 GOP seats to defend — including five open seats where Republican senators are retiring — compared with 14 seats that Democrats have to defend, McConnell is making clear he’s not taking any chances. And he’s signaling he has little regard as to whether GOP prospects are loyal to former President Donald Trump, who himself is beginning to take an active role in Senate GOP primaries.
“What I’m looking for is somebody who can win in November,” McConnell told CNN. “I don’t care who they like or don’t like. Can they win in November? So it’s not an ideological thing. It’s not a ‘who do you think is going to be the nominee in ’24’ thing. It’s can you win in November?”
And asked if his allied super PAC, Senate Leadership Fund, will drop big bucks in primaries to help his preferred candidates, McConnell said bluntly: “Only if necessary.”

Then Mitch can say (as we've seen) "See! Only our type of guys 'can win', so REAL conservatives are losers."
We've seen this with Matt Bevin, who Trump helped win as governor of Kentucky, then McConnell helped lose (because he dared to run against him for Senate in 2014) and Kris Kobach for both Governor and Senator.
Whatever it takes to create the narrative that ONLY worthless, pantywaist moderate republicans can win.
And then we end up with a slew of Lisa Murkowskis.

Unless something is done to prevent a repeat of the 2020 vote rigging, it won’t matter who he runs.
The key is to make sure as few Republicans win as possible so that Chuck Schumer has a free hand. Trump wing of party needs to be at war with non-Trump wing of party forever. Then the Democrats can do whatever they want, and they want to do a lot.
Mitch always helps the Democrat win whenever a real conservative is nominated.

At one time he was considered a political geneous but things have changed fast and passed him by quickly. Democrats are running circles around him and he hasn’t a clue still living like it is 1986.
Hey Mitch, Why the heck don’t you represent your State and fix the Unemployment Insurance problem which is a total, complete disaster. Just a clue, rather than screw up the GOP like you have been doing for 30 years.

McConnell needs to go, period, end of story.
McConnell’s PAC better back and send money to new and incumbent Republican candidates who are conservatives and not turn into RINOs once they get elected into office. The GOP needs conservatives who also are on board with the issues that got Mr. Trump elected in 2016 as those issues are what America needed then and more so now.
McConnell’s PAC will only back candidates that are supportive of the GOP agenda which is the opposite of MAGA and has been for 30 years.
