There’s no if about it.
The interesting thing about the bondage phase is that is a relatively small number of individuals who hold the rest in bondage.
But—you have to get to the courage phase before the public is ready to take care of business.
The Southern States saving the Republic would be ironic and absolutely awesome - the ultimate atonement for even the harshest critics of Southern culture.
The Founders knew that in order to preserve Liberty it is essential that not only must the Constitution limit the power of the central government (Jefferson: "In questions of power, let us hear no more of trust in men, but rather bind them down from mischief with the chains of the Constitution."), but its preservation had to be maintained through a highly structured -- and difficult to execute -- amendment process.
Unfortunately (tragically, even) this process has been corrupted in recent years by "amendment through executive action". And now, in the Era of Covid (alternatively, the Era of Cowardice), the Constitution has lost even its most basic defender/protector -- the US Supreme Court -- which has undeniably lost interest in carrying out its primary responsibility as most of its member justices no longer regard their oaths as inviolate.
Prior to 1747, exactly how many countries were governed by democratic systems, and how many by tribal elders, kings, or emperors? Tytler may be right, but it seems to me that he had a pretty small sample from which to draw conclusions.
It’s a shame that Sir Alexander Tytler never got to see Trump.
Unless it's 1860.
