Russia and China unveil plans for joint lunar space station as Moscow drifts away from NASA

Russia and China have agreed to build a base on or around the Moon, the latest signal of geopolitical maneuvering in space and an apparent rebuke of the United States.

Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, signed an agreement this week with the Chinese National Space Administration on the joint creation of what they call the International Scientific Lunar Station.

The memorandum of understanding between the two governments is the latest sign that Russia sees its future in space as primarily a cooperative effort with the Chinese space program rather than with NASA, its main partner of the last 25 years.

They see the writing on the wall, the days of US dominance in the world are about to be over.

But that’s ok, at least we got rid of those 2 pesky Senate RINOs from Georgia!!! Right?

Are the Russians throwing a tantrum about us no longer paying for rides to our space station?

“It’s OK, NASA’s Muslim Advancement program will more than make up for it.”

My thoughts exactly.

NASA, just like America, is toast.

“Where does Elon Musk fit in?”

China if he wants to prosper with government help.

Where does Elon Musk fit in?

Background.

NASA suicided the Space Shuttle by applying wacko environmental policy restrictions to the construction of critical vehicular equipment.

NASA "partnered" with private space transportation providers for "Future" transportation to space.

Russia had the only remaining transportation to space with older but reasonably reliable boosters and vehicles and partnered with NASA for ongoing and immediate transportation to space.

Musk is one of the possible future transports.

Russia just told NASA to go fly a kite, they're done as a taxi service for US astronauts.

Now Russia has told NASA that they'll go to the Moon without 'em, and NASA can use their environmentally friendly boosters to get themselves and Artemis partners to the Moon.

"Russia and China unveil plans for joint lunar space station as Moscow drifts away from NASA"

We may not get to the outer frontier first, but we will still be the most "woke".

I'm sure NASA has research underway to create the worlds first orbiting transgender sex reassignment surgery center.

Once a large supply of water is discovered on the moon, I'm sure NASA has blueprints somewhere for the first off-world gay bathhouse.

Are the Russians throwing a tantrum about us no longer paying for rides to our space station?

No.

First it's not a tantrum to require payment for properly rendered service.

Second, NASA has become the Politically Correct "Partner" that doesn't have to produce any value BECAUSE they are Politically Correct.

Russia just told the Know-It-Alls to do it themselves because they know it all, just like the Space Shuttle know it alls.

Why would advanced nations want to use NASA? NASA’s mission is to increase Islamic Nations Self Esteem. What has NASA delivered since the Space Shuttle? Fawning articles about Muslims?

Russia has no manned spacecraft capable of going to the moon and no booster rockets big enough to send them there. They've been trying to develop "Federation" (successor to Soyuz) for years. Will it ever fly?

We have the spacecraft in an advanced state of development and two different boosters in development (SLS and Spaceship).

Not exactly. NASA has been really sh***y to Roscosmos since we don’t need them for launching anymore, and hasn’t shown any interest in further cooperation, either ISS or Lunar. Huge mistake if you ask me, as the Russians will continue to advance, and it would be better to be partners than at odds.

Russia has no manned spacecraft capable of going to the moon ...

True, as far as we know.

... and no booster rockets big enough to send them there.

Absolutely False.

They've been trying to develop "Federation" (successor to Soyuz) for years.

While reliably acting as a taxi service for the West.

Now that they have redirected efforts to their own program they are likely to get results.

We have the spacecraft in an advanced state of development and two different boosters in development (SLS and Spaceship).

When we get Artemus Astronauts to the Moon and back to Earth alive you can say "I told you so".
