3 x 5 x 8 = 120 cu ft
1 cu ft of gold = 1,206 lbs

120 X 1,206 = 144,720 lbs -or- ~ 72 tons

That’s a lot of weight. A draft horse can pull 8,000 pounds (impressive!)

That 72 tons, would take ~18 “horse power” to pull.

Maybe the load was split up into multiple wagons?
