Let’s begin with the understanding that there is no “hate speech” exception to the First Amendment. That has been settled law since the Founders first signed the Constitution of the United States in 1787. Yet, on college campuses all across the United States, the First Amendment rights of commencement speakers have been repeatedly violated by those who think they have a First Amendment right to forcefully silence any speech they don’t like.
To demonstrate the absurdity of this response, Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel cites her five-year-old daughter’s definition of the First Amendment: “Free speech is that you can say what you want -- as long as I like it” How have we arrived at the point where so many of our college-educated citizens now have the perspective of a five-year-old?
This trend became downright embarrassing during the spring of 2014 when such prestigious institutions as Brandeis University, Rutgers University, Smith College, and Haverford College all failed to protect the First Amendment rights of their invited commencement speakers, especially since each guest speaker represented some allegedly persecuted minority -- religion, race, gender or gender preference. In other words, these incidents had nothing to do with identity politics.

It would break my heart if any of my grandkids wanted to go to an Ivy League- I KNOW what they are and it ain’t “institutions of higher learning”. As to the public colleges- we HAVE a weapon and it is TAX MONEY. Start denying it and watch how quickly “woke” enters the list of historical oddities.
Flies like Hillaryous Rotten and Berrie O Bozo. They both smell.
The trick to this is to starve the Humanities/Studies Departments of money. If your son/daughter is not prepared to take Calculus I in their first semester encourage them to go to a trade/technical institution instead. Doing this will reduce enrollment and tuition money. Many good jobs can be had with a certification from these institutions. When we take control of the House and Senate in 2022, hold a vote to withhold ALL federal funding including student loans to any institution that teaches Critical Race Theory. You want to study this crap or force students to learn it through mandatory General Education courses, fund it yourself. If you are no longer in school or do not have college-aged children, do NOTHING to support these institutions.
You are on to something here. I have to think that many choose some "studies" major simply because they are not capable of doing simple mathematics. I include calculus in the category of simple mathematics. There are two reasons for this. 1.) Some, because of their intelligence, are not capable to do mathematics. People who are not capable have zero business going university. 2.) K-12 teachers and the mathematics curriculum that they use fail to teach simple mathematics regardless of a student's intellectual abilities. The reason for this is the vast majority of teachers, including those that supposedly teach mathematics, are not capable of doing mathematics. Hence, they have education degrees where they learn how to make bulletin boards at a college level. They never had any business in going to university, let alone teaching anyone anything.
‘Lord of the Flies’
Throw another book on the fire.
Well you’re ahead of me, I finished the Calculus sequence, but it wasn’t simple to me. I mentioned Calculus because it’s necessary to complete any major in engineering, physical science, medicine, and accounting/finance. They are already beginning to radicalize math with the whole you don’t need to show your work nonsense. I replied to a Humanities major who thought this was such a great idea with OK, for my literature paper I’m going to give my thesis statement and my conclusion, that’s it. Evidence and footnotes (showing my work) is racist so it isn’t necessary, can I do an interpretive dance instead? Needless to say say I didn’t get a response.
Those stink because of the elite club to which they belong. The DS foisted them upon us by “virtue” (hack-ptui!) of their DNA relationship to the Rockefeller and “Cain” clans.
Make no mistake, other club contenders were champing from the wings, e.g., Horseface 322 that ran in 2004 presidential race, and if they’d have been as clever as Barry in the 2008 Hawkeye Cauc-eye, they might have been catapulted (with electoral help) into the top spots, as were Barry and Her Royal Clinton. Either way, the DS’s split bets would pay off.
“It would break my heart if any of my grandkids wanted to go to an Ivy League”
I’d threaten to cut my kids out of my will if they paid a penny towards those schools, with my grandkids.
None of my parents’ grandchildren are interested in the Ivy League. This makes my northeast relatives and friends crazy since, so far, 4 of 5 have the high grades and test scores to be competitive applicants. They have or will take out of state full tuition+ scholarships to not so woke universities. The 5th is only a freshman. None are going back to their blue states.
