Prime Minister Boris Johnson has admitted that vaccine passports for international travel will be a feature of Britons’ lives in the future.

Addressing a Downing Street press conference on Monday evening, Prime Minister Johnson acknowledged that providing documentation to prove vaccination was a “novel one for our country. We’ve never had this type of question before within the domestic UK economy, within our own home market.

Well, I’ve seen the world. There were still places I’d like to have gone, but oh well.

I will then kindly disregard entertaining any notion of visiting Great Britain.

Vaccinated people can still be carrying the virus!

Just call it “Britain”. Churchill would be the first to agree “it ain’t so ‘great’ anymore” ... especially under the thumb of a Covid Coward like Boris (and there are many more cowards like him there.)

Vaccinated people can still be carrying the virus!

~~~
See how they can work it both ways!?!?
They wont let you travel or board transportation without proof of vaccination, but they tell you that you have to keep wearing masks after you are vaccinated because you can still spread the virus!
hmmmmmmmmmmm
Looks like they are going to have to repeal the HIPPA healthcare privacy act. They’ll probably bury the repeal of medical information privacy in a 10,000 page budget reconciliation bill. All of the GOP congress critters will vote for it, in order to pass the earmarks for the donors they’ve negotiated which are also hidden in the bill. When the repeal of healthcare record privacy become public, they’ll tell us Pelosi didn’t give them enough time to read the bill so they can’t be blamed.
Carrying a physical passport for the rest of one's life is silly.
Everyone needs a number tattooed to their forehead.
Cannot buy/sell without.
About 8 years ago I was on an international musician’s site and some of the guys there were dinging me for not seeing Germany, IIRC. They were bragging about having been to all sorts of european countries and some really were world travellers.
I had finally had it. I told them that I have seen the grand canyon, I’ve gone fishing in the Kenai river. I’ve been to beaches in Texas, SC, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and california. I’ve been to death valley, The Moab desert, Las Vegas, driven Route 66. I’ve been to Sunset Blvd and Laurel Canyon. I’ve Surfed Hawaii. I’ve scuba dived the pacific and played with Octopus at the bottom of Puget Sound. I’ve bicycled past deer and Antelope at 45 MPH downhill next to Mt St Hellens as well as Mt Rainier.
And lots more - and all without ever leaving the US.
I’ve lived in pure Vietnames neighboerhoods, befriended reservation indians, worked at a first generation Japanese man’s farm, befriending japanese young men brought over to learn our ways. I’ve worked with countless Indian, chinese and Pakistani computer developers, as well as britsh, French and German developers and business owners.
And all without ever leaving the US.
I would tell them that if I want to see the rest of the world, I just rent a James Bond movie. :) That really ticked them off.
Fact is, those discussions are where I first cut my teeth on my now strong argument that the US is really 50 different countries that just happen to mostly speak the same language. If I can’t go to muslim London now, I’ll live. Truth be told, I would only want to go to London in the 1960’s, and it’s too late for that. :)
They really are mandating vaccines but are too cowardly to enact such a law. This way they get to say that they haven’t forced anyone to get vaccinated, but in reality they really have because without the “passport” you are forbidden to do anything.
Say what we want about the Democrats, but the rules will be made in each country we want to go to...we literally have no say in it.
And no, that doesn’t mean I support it, but if people are planning to do what I’ll be doing later this year, and bailing out of this country for good, they won’t get very far unless they can convince people that they’re vaccinated (whether true or not).
I’ll admit to missing this announcement from the PM, but logically this testing/passporting to take a flight (or train between the UK and Belgium) is going to be needed to open things up.
What’s the alternative?
Did anyone else see Code 46? It was a weird movie.
One of the major features was that you needed a Papel to do anything. This is “cover”, i.e. insurance before you were allowed to go anywhere. Generally when they denied cover, it was because they knew ahead of time that you probably wouldn’t make it. The movie was about a guy investigating someone who was smuggling out fake papels.
Freedom was found in Jebel Ali, an Arab city state. I guess the message was the Islam won’t put up with our western nonsense, like a virus passport.
+1
I need to get to Spain for work and play. If I have to wave a vaccination certificate in addition to my passport to make that happen then so be it.
My son & wife went to South Africa and also South America. On both trips they could not get insurance without having the Yellow fever vaccination. A small price to pay to spend time on safari and the Galapagos.
*by the way, might you know any hot chicks with horns that I could travel with?
They want this digital password very badly. Just think about what they will incrementally expand its use for, once they have everyone required to possess it. It will become your defacto id. The amount of personal information will gradually and continuously be expanded will be insidious.
Government can never stop once it starts something. Social Security Card? It says right on it that it cannot be used as id. It is now a required field in a database for practically everything.
Once established, it will be required for everything, everywhere, and, the initial reason for it, CCPvirus, will be long gone and forgotten, but we will be left with this digital id, that everyone is required to have, looking for a purpose. It will end very badly for those who desire to be free.
