Why Election Integrity Matters

If you’ve ever read Lord of the Flies, The Rise and the Fall of the Third Reich, or 1984, you understand the threat to life and limb from unrestrained power. Lord Acton distilled the danger down to a simple phrase: “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Our Founding Fathers knew that which is why they crafted for us the Constitution, the greatest document ever written by men. With H.R. 1, the Democrats will destroy our rights under that document.

The Founders built into the Constitution a variety of checks and balances on government as a whole and its branch of government to ensure they never accumulated too much power. They gave us the Connecticut Compromise, which balanced representation between large and small states, with two Senators elected from each state and Congressmen being elected based on population; the Legislature, which passes laws, and the Executive, which implements them; and the hugely significant Massachusetts Compromise, which created the ultimate check on government power, the Bill of Rights, which explicitly articulated individual rights upon which the government could not infringe.

Finally, in what was likely the most groundbreaking element of any constitution ever written, the Founding Fathers explicitly limited the government’s powers with the 9th and 10th Amendments. The former stated that the Constitution’s enumeration of certain rights did not preclude the existence of others not addressed, while the latter stated that the federal government had only those powers given and any not given to it were reserved for states or the people.

This is an EXCELLENT article, Kaslin, thank you for posting it. It summarizes nicely WHY the Constitution is (was) a nearly perfect document. (I say possibly "was" because...even the most absolutely and stunningly perfect guide to anything isn't worth a cup of warm spit if...people decide to simply pay it no attention and ignore it with no ramifications for doing so.)

The American Thinker article you posted outlines simply the how's and why's of the Constitution's existence and power, specifically how it was crafted to counteract the bad elements of human nature, particularly the lust for power.

Now that the Left has total power in our government, they are grasping the levers of that power with both hands and are determined to wield it as they see fit, and in the process, are dismantling this country as fast as they can. They are doing this in this fashion, with a nearly manic level of activity, because to accomplish this before, they had to the rulings of activist judiciary, and executive fiat to accomplish their goals. There is no broad mandate or support for the things they wish to accomplish, so they must conceal their goals and motives and pursue them via extra-legislative means.

And it is why, when they have power now through massive, unhidden, unrestrained, unpunished election fraud, that they not only resort to executive fiat (Executive Orders) to attempt to accomplish what they cannot do in the framework of the Constitution. Lest you or anyone else think I am simply blindly taking one side because I happen to be on the Right (I don't think you do, that is rhetorical) I use Election Fraud as an example because with HR1, they are attempting to bake fraud and criminality into the law.

I believe with documentation and rational analysis that the Left believes in rigging elections and engaging in outright election fraud. This is not just my "feeling". One party in America wishes to undermine the security and fairness of elections, and the other party wishes to increase the security and fairness of elections. In this exercise, I do a comparative analysis and let any rational and open-minded person make an obvious conclusion:

THE LEFTIST APPROACH TO THE AMERICAN VOTING PROCESS

Support Ballot Harvesting


• Support Ranked Voting
  
  
• Support Compacts between states to give their electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote
  
  
• Support Efforts to persuade electors in the Electoral College to swing votes depending on what the Left desires, not the voters in the state.
  
  
• Support Efforts to outright remove the Electoral College and implement a national popular vote.
  
  
• Support Relaxation of absentee ballot provisions
  
  
• Support Extension of both absentee ballot and in-person voting time frames, opening the voting process up as much, and as long as possible to increase the odds of successful voter fraud
  
  
• Consistently degrade, attack, ignore, and openly bypass ballot signature requirements.
  
  
• Support Motor Voter Registration
  
  
• Opposition to Voter ID laws
  
  
• Opposition to maintenance of voter rolls to remove dead people and people who have left that area.
  
  
• Engages in Outright voter fraud. In the 2020 election it was widespread, coordinated, and part of the core Leftist approach to the electoral process.

THE CONSERVATIVE APPROACH TO THE AMERICAN VOTING PROCESS

• Oppose Ballot Harvesting

• Conservatives do not engage in Outright voter fraud. There may be singular examples, but it is not organized, part and parcel of the conservative movement. As the 2020 election has shown, this is the sole domain of the Left.

This comparison between Leftists and Conservatives is ONE example. Just one. I could apply this to everything from Crime and Punishment to Immigration to Race Relations, to Economics. The point is, any rational person can put these things down on paper in columns and do a comparison to understand there is no equivalence, no moral equivalence, and no equivalence in outcomes that affect this nation. I take it a step further, in that I believe the Left does not engage in these polar-opposite actions because they think they help America and its principles, they engage in them because they hate America and its principles and wish it ill.

Why Election Integrity Matters

Yeah, I'm gonna say that for a large swath of the population and a vast majority of the political class it doesn't.

It matters for them, they just don't know it.

When they wake up one day and realize what they threw away with both hands under the yoke of an entrenched tyranny, it will be too late.

Then, the words of Alexandr Solzhenitsyn will come to their minds..."...And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like..."

So, yes. It does matter to them even though they don't even give it a second thought.

The socialist left doesn’t feel any differently about Conservatives than they did 5 years ago (or 50). They still think they are a bunch of slow witted, greedy, nincompoops that deserve to die. The only thing that has changed is that they are drunk with power due to the Silicon Valley’s attempt to take over the US and their ‘assumption’ that it is a fait accompli. This feeling will not be stopped until us Conservatives inform them NO, we will not let you win, and force them to stop.
