Total Vaccine Doses Delivered: 123,232,775
At Least One Dose: 61,088,527
Fully Vaccinated: 32,102,061
(Excerpt) Read more at covid.cdc.gov ...
Doses Delivered: 6.9 million (Massive!)
People Receiving 1st Dose: 1.1 million (good day)
People Receiving 2nd Dose: 817,000 (reasonably good day)
J&J vaccine is now broken out in the report, for both deliveries and administration. A total of 3.3 million delivered, 307,112 administered so far.
A significant phenomena, has been a big surge in Moderna deliveries over the last week. They have surged past Pfizer in total deliveries, after trailing them since the Program started.
We just cracked past 30 million first shots for those 65+ years old.
It appears that the CDC is using around 51 million as the population 65+, rather than the 55 million that I had been estimating, which means that we have also cracked past 60% of those 65+ years old with a first shot.
And here we are in Hillsboro county Florida, myself and my wife and my sister, all over 65 and have not been able to even get appointments for any vaccine. Yet, all kinds of younger people have been getting their shots.
Sad but I’d rather you were doing border stat updates. 💉? We graciously are going to allow some one else have ours.
Thank you for the update! Great news. We essentially have herd immunity in healthcare now.

That is happening from coast to coast and in between.
We have relatives and friends from ages 75 to 80+ and unable to get their first appt. Or just getting them this past week.
An 80 year old sibling in the SW was told no on first shot and and a 75 year old SIL told no second appt. because their states were too successful/aggressive in allowing the 1st shot.
Sunday, a 50 something relative eligible for the first shot couldn’t get appts in this county and got appts. in the Hood of another county 50 miles away. So, he drove 50 miles down and 50 miles back after getting his 1st shot. He got his shot in a pharmacy in the hood.
As long as they know they are enrolling in an experiment. The experimental medicine likely does have a good chance working. We will find out in a few years.
The strategy where everyone of a certain group must be vaccinated before the next group is admitted is very inefficient. There will always be stragglers. Instead , authorities use % gates as a trigger for the next group (example 60% of 65+ vaccinated before 55+ group is admitted)
The vaccines available in the United States have gone through all the normal Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials. Between the US and the UK, those trials had over 135,000 participants. The first participants got their shots a year ago (March 16, 2020). They're doing fine. And they're free from disease.
These are well tested vaccines and they do a wonderful job. President Trump explicitly said that when he announced their authorization in December.
Thanks again for the great update! So thankful President Trump pushed this through and got us these life-saving prevention tools so quickly. I know it’s selfish to want another 4 years of that man’s time, but with all he managed to accomplish in office, we could definitely use his continuing help.
President Trump was proud of these vaccines. I’m thankful for his efforts in making them a reality.
We went from a 6 week wait to 3 days.
As an alternative to the online registration/signup for vaccination, there should also be a number you can call to have someone take care of the signup for you. I’d be very surprised if that were not the case. You will probably need to be flexible when you use this service.
Also, here in Arizona, they have been doing a lot of +1 vaccinations - whereby if you show up for your vaccination at a drive through with a passenger - and there have been no shows - they will administer a vaccine to the passenger too. This ‘strategy’ seems to work well towards the end of the day.

This is how mrs riverdawg got vaccinated. The clinic had some no-shows and the vaccines would otherwise have been wasted.
You need to find an area with a lot of black people who are shunning the vax. The vax is provided by the fed gov so the state can’t regulate based on your location.

A 50 something son did that this week, except he went from 0 to his first shot this Sunday.
Spousal unit heard Walgreens was doing vaccinations. Called the pharmacy and got an appointment. 1st shot 3 days later.
She tried online process first but it was jammed.
“over 65 and have not been able to even get appointments”
The last two weeks have seen a big surge in deliveries Nationwide (and also the new J&J vaccine started shipping as well), so it is a better time to be looking for appointments. It can be competitive.
Some have had success registering with their State and County Departments of Health vaccination websites, who call back later when supply becomes available. Also the Veterans Affairs, for any Military Veterans. They have a formal role in vaccine monitoring, and have had good supply.
Some of the big vaccination sites (like at sports stadiums or parks) have a daily or weekly rhythm, where blocks of new appointments are made available, like 6AM on Monday, or 9AM on Thursday. So there might be a prime time to try to get in to them. Ask the folks who work there, or people who have gotten appointments.
Several Freepers have had success registering for shots in majority Minority neighborhoods - some travelling 50 miles away to get them. The Supply/Demand ratio often seems much better in those areas.
Large pharmacy chains also have websites to sign up for vaccination. Might be worth checking those that are dominant in your area.
“I’d rather you were doing border stat updates.”
You and me both, Brother.
There was a border wall post today though: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3940869/posts
I like tracking big, complex projects...
“All 65 and over should’ve been vaccinated before anybody else, excepting for the front-line medical and emergency workers.”
That is the policy, but people with co-morbidities can also qualify - which some line jumpers feign (e.g. claiming that they are smokers, etc.).
