WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Interior Department will launch its review of the federal oil and gas leasing program on March 25, a source familiar with the matter said, a key step that will determine whether the Biden administration will permanently halt new leases on federal land and water.
The review will kick off with a public forum on oil and gas leasing on federal land and water, with panelists representing industry, environmental conservation and justice groups, labor and others, and commence an online comment period, the source said.
This input would inform an interim report on the future of the program and what can be done to reform how leases are managed, how much revenue should go to taxpayers and other issues.

Just dive up the land to blacks. Call it reparations.
“ Gas is already up 50 cents since Jan, no doubt we’ll see $3/gal within a month or two”
Due to our unfortunate proximity to cali, our gas prices barely ever went below 3 bucks
A “review.”
“Public input.”
All sham. They’ll just ban exploration and extraction on all public lands regardless.
That’s what I think. Kabuki theater. They already have plans in place.
Already $3.24 in our neck of the woods.
Yup. Most of ours comes from kauliforkneeyuh too.
Was about $2.29 here in Jan (ND) now $2.69.
When goes goes over $4.00 gal you can expect the RATS to blame it on the greedy oil companies.
Seen this movie too many times.
So, the SLR exemptions come up for review. The stimulus goes out. Keystone has already driven up prices. Jobs are getting on with it. Our economy is waiting to spend.
Yeah, let’s mess up the oil industry some more.
