When I was 52 I was feeling a tired. Went to my Dr. for my yearly Physical and my blood test showed I was a bit Anemic.
He told me to wait a week and get retested. Same results.

Next thing I know he refers me to a Hematologist. Found out he was actually a Hematologist / Oncologist.

Turns out I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Probably had it for two years until I noticed anything. Cancer can sneak up on you, even when you get yearly Physicals.

So glad that you were diagnosed, and sounds like in good health now.

Doctors are fallible. Tests are sometimes inconclusive. Symptoms that are not dramatic can be ignored. People who don’t smoke get lung cancer and die.

The point is that we can’t blame the victim/patient. Maybe it makes the blamer feel better (invincible?). But ultimately, even they (or someone they care deeply about) may be faced with a life threatening issue out of the blue. And they won’t want someone second guessing their proactiveness.....
