Ummm... Aren’t the very rich Middle East countries also in Africa? ...I believe they each far exceed the per capita wealth of Equatorial Guinea.

NO, there are Arab countries in Africa (e.g. Egypt), but all of them are poorer (counting average income) than Equatorial Guinea.
All rich Middle East countries, like Saudi Arabia are in ASIA!
But, given that all the wealth of Equatorial Guinea goes to the dictator and his few buddies, and the rest is all poor and oppressed, life is surely better for the average citizen of Egypt then the average citizen of Equatorial Guinea. .
