I guess that I misjudged ‘conservatives’, they really do LOVE public schools - otherwise they wouldn’t be demanding that they re-open, so they can send their kids back into those hell-holes.

Oh well, live and learn...

In an odd sort of way, the teachers are right about this.

The government can’t have it both ways — by imposing all kinds of restrictions on people and businesses, and then claiming it’s perfectly OK for teachers to be in classrooms.

If I’m a teacher and I’m told by the government that it’s not safe to go to a restaurant or a baseball game, then I don’t trust anyone from the same government who says I should be in a classroom.

There are many reasons to end the public schools. Now is a good time to get going with better alternatives that are privately funded and competitive.

The face-masks inhalation of expelled carbon-dioxide has made the socialist U.S. citizenry even stupider than before.

This private school / private Catholic school in Philadelphia has been open all school year, and has had zero in-school transmissions of COVID-19. And its tuition is far less than what the public schools spend. The real reason for keeping the public schools closed has nothing to do with COVID-19..

Home Depot, Walmart, Liquor warehouses, supermarkets...they all have never been closed. Teachers who don’t want to teach in person should be able to take a LOA, same with students. Those who wish to teach/attend schools should be able to. I’d like to see us able to make personal choices without big brother calling all the shots.

😂🙌💰. Good luck with that. We haven’t had any kids or grands in school for 15+ years. Greats in FL, yes.

Teachers are about the most useless, self righteous, and whiney group of no loads that I’ve ever seen. They want their cake and eat it to. They must all be fired like Reagan fired the air traffic controllers in the 80’s. Since nothing of worth is being taught anymore to the kids, I’m sure there are a myriad of able Americans who could replace them and come up to speed fast at the teachers current level of competence.
While they are at it they can declare the teachers union as a domestic terrorist organization.

States with Republican legislatures should implement full voucher systems state-wide. Let the parents choose where their children GO to school instead of churning profits for Google Chromebooks and teacher unions. (And the politicians who benefit from teacher union campaign contributions.)

Heck, if the kids are going to do everything on-line, there are numerous FREE courses they can use from K-12. Get rid of all of it.

Sounds great. It’ll never happen though because it isn’t about education, it’s about control. Just like the United States postal service isn’t about delivering mail, it’s about control. America would be better off without the post office and without public schools but it would take a revolution to accomplish either of those tasks.

I was talking with a friend that has two daughters in high school. They’ve been riding that seesaw with the schools opening and closing but in Georgia they’ve opened. And if I’m not mistaken the kids have the option. He was telling me that one of the biggest problems they’ve discovered is the kids that have disappeared. Not showing up in school. Not on line. They’re gone. That spells trouble.

If nothing else, Americans are finding out what a lazy, useless group many teachers are.

Parents, who truly hate their kids, send them to Public "Schools"!

On August 3, 1981, air traffic controllers went on strike ... and ...

President Ronald Reagan called the strike illegal and gave them 48 hours to return to work or he would fire them.

Two days later, on August 5, 1981, President Ronald Regan/the feds began firing 11,359 striking ATC’ers who had still not returned to work ... and ... the FAA placed a lifetime ban on rehiring them, too!

On August 17, 1981, the FAA began accepting applications for new ATC’ers.

Here and now almost 40 years later in 2021, some might say “Boom!”.

But, I just get nostalgic, because I’m remembering that while looking at the current covid madness running amok in our public schools system.

How about opening up those teaching positions to people who want to work, and who can and will teach our children in our now empty schools, again?

The needs of the many outweigh the needs and the fears of a very few.

And, c’mon man ... at some point, common sense demands it, too.
