Y’know all the tall, high-maintenace Date Palms you see on Florida’s highways? They’re mature trees TRUCKED-IN from California!

We have lots of palm trees here in the SF Bay Area of California. In my subdivision of South San Francisco every house had a palm tree or two in front. They've been disappearing over the last 60 years. I cut mine down 20 years ago, thought it didn't belong in our cool climate. Palm trees are everywhere in Northern California (not native trees).

Washingtonia filfera palms are native to California.
