Meanwhile no social distancing and business shutdowns in India, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, but incredibly lower covid death rates there. 🧐
Well, at least there’s a little bit of sanity in that state.
sum = very little
The medical establishment vigorously opposed any and all measures to do anything to offer early treatment to Covid patients before they were so sick that they showed up at the ER. Doctors who fearlessly worked to provide primary care for their patients with off-label use of approved medications like HCQ and Ivermectin were (and still are) pilloried and treated as pariahs, despite their obvious clinical benefits and lack of any "approved" alternatives. This whole fiasco was orchestrated to maximize public fear for political purposes and it will take considerable "deprogramming" on the part of a large part of the public to break the fear paralysis they've been dealing with for the past year.
This must never be allowed to happen again.

You nailed it. Your statement should be on billboards all over the country.
I tend to disagree with the “once in a lifetime” description of the 2 day cold snap that in Texas on 2/14 and 2/15. The only thing that made it a memorable event was that the power went out during the first 12 hours and didn’t return for many people for 4 days. That lead to broken water lines and property damage.
This wasn’t a “Hurricane” as much as it was a failure of public policy to keep the power on when temperatures went below 10 degrees as far south as San Antonio. That’s happened many times in the past - and it will happen again.
Until we build adequate reliable electric generation capacity - we’re going to see similar outcomes.

I agree but generation is one part of the system. You have to have transmission facilities and distribution facilities
to complete the total process. All three sectors have unique
criteria for each to perform. If one or parts of one or two
fail the the total system begins to shut down.
Hopefully this type event won’t happen again for many years.
Take care and have a nice day.

But, but, but... white liberal elites sitting in their 40 room DC mansions say the lockdown hasn't been that hard...
