I just did a search for percentage effectiveness of first shot covid phizer. That’s what came up on a couple of sites.
Your right on the end point percentages. They are actually saying (the full dosage) gives 100% immunity from hospitalization or death (unless the vaccine kills you, that’s a different end point)
Sutter called yesterday to re-schedule me for Tuesday.
I think that Sutter followed federal guidelines not to stockpile vaccine for second doses and that created the problem. Since then Sutter has obtained 60,000 doses toward their 90,000 dose shortfall.
I credit Sutter with creating a PR storm about the problem. Somebody somewhere had 60,000 doses that they needed less than Sutter did. I wonder how that came about. Is it an indication that others were not following those same federal guidelines?
My second dose delay will be only five days. I’m looking forward to being in a near immune condition. My wife and I plan to visit some inoculated friends and relatives.
“The first shot gives 85% immunity.”
Two weeks ago, researchers in Israel reported that one dose of the Pfizer vaccine was 85% effective in preventing symptomatic disease 15 to 28 days after inoculation.
