Than why did he kick him off?

I don't know, but does that make any sense to you? Was Romney some kind of social conservative? Not even close. His campaign was supposed to be gay friendly.

And did Grenell decide he was gay after he was already on the Romney campaign? If he was invited to join in the first place, then why would that be the reason he left?

Romney’s campaign was not gay friendly. It was, like everything else in his political career, a bizarre mishmash of opinions on the subject because he wanted to appear moderate.

And yes, Grenell was kicked off the Romney campaign due to his homosexuality. You don’t really understand how much of a weasel Romney is if you think it’s not in his nature to hire someone despite a certain factor then let him go soon after over concerns involving that factor if there is a chance it could him support from some supporters. The man is a sociopath. It’s all an act for him.
