A friend of mine who used to work in downtown Portland recently said their employer sent a long email about the future once BatFlu is over. If you read between the lines they said they plan to do remote work for most employees 1-3/days per week, depending on job AND in a location with more outside space.
Basically, were not coming back to Portland. Were looking at a nearby more suburban city with easy highway access not overrun by crime, druggies and homeless.
I suspect that is happening in NYC as well; a couple of people working for big banks there have indicated that (they won’t be going back AT ALL).
I have employees that work for me who live in the Portland area. They refuse to go downtown because of the protests and the crime that follows them.
