In the footage I saw the DC police stood down and did nothing but watch even as peaceful marchers begged them to intervene.
They were ordered to stand down, obviously. Only Pelosi and McConnell can tell them to stand down.
My money is on Pelosi. She knew it was all a setup and nothing serious was going to happen.
