Just when you thought the Left couldn’t veer any closer to the cliffs of insanity, The Washington Post has given notice that we haven’t seen anything yet.
The daftest bit of madness, the war on biological gender, is just part of it. Sanity itself is now on trial, according to a book review in the Post’s Sunday Outlook section, “How colonialism and capitalism helped place a stigma on mental illness.”
In it, New York-based writer Balaji Ravichandran discusses a book by Roy Richard Grinker entitled “NOBODY’S Normal: How Culture Created the Stigma of Mental Illness.”
Mr. Ravichandran, channeling Mr. Grinker, accuses Western society of having an “obsession with what is normal.”
For most people who are reeling from an ever more perverse popular culture embraced by media, academia, Hollywood, the Democrat Party and even corporations, the problem is not too much normalcy. We’re in the grip of people hellbent on making it disappear entirely.

This isn’t really new. potheads and other druggies have called non-addicts ‘normies’ and ‘straight’ for awhile.
I saw this the other day in some woke video I was watching on YouTube. The presenter was referring to sane people as “neuro-typical” or by the plural noun “neurotypicals.”

Feminazis in the 1960s made the claim that insanity was just society’s way of controlling thought.
Of course Kate Millett founder of NOW was certifiably crazy and institutionalized several times by her family AFTER she was well known.
A radical feminist in France who made the same claim eventually committed suicide.
And of course the APA has done much to normalize mental illnesses and insist that they aren’t ill at all.
The plan is to marginalize normalcy, before delegitimizing it.
They PUSH chaos.
While at the same time lefties have sought to “normalize” aberrant behavior.
Radical moral relativism literally means anything is anything. With no rational benchmarks or moral principles to rely on lefties are adrift - and seek to drag us along with them.
I discovered in 2008 that we, as a race, simply adapt to our new normal.
I was a member of a forum called “Seattlebubble.com” regarding the “potential” real estate crash. I said that I believed that prices could fall as much as 20% and I was laughed at and I was ridiculed. Heck, it sounded apocalyptical and crazy even to me. But I believed it to be true.
And what happened? It fell a lot more than that. And what was the response? It was not “OMG, what a catastrophy!” Nope. The response was, “Hey, there are some great buying opportunities.
Meanwhile, it was a catastrophy. Suddenly people that didn’t know anyone that had ever had their house foreclosed on were not only walking away from their homes, but they knew a LOT of other people that were being evicted or walking away. It was the catastrophy, but only for particular individuals. Sure, a LOT of them, but hey, that’s life, right.
Something the same, only much worse is happening right now. But this time it’s not just about money. Our world has been destroyed. Make no mistake. And yes, I’m talking “past tense”. The only thing making it feel “normal” is the misguided belief that this will end and it will all come back.
It won’t. This is the new normal, And to explain my tag line, this new normal is not self sustaining. We’re in for a heck of a decade. Or three.
Don’t complain. Prepare.
And the homeless they turned onto the streets were meant (among other things) to punish "normals" for being so, and for wanting to not be exposed to (and for wanting their children to not be victimized by) insane people.
As if there never existed a culture in the history of Man that was really afraid of and demonized mental illness.
Sheesh. Yeah. All other cultures are noble.
We’re way past insanity. They’re normalizing insanity. And yes, we ain’t seen nuffin yet!

My comments are actually not just about the US. They are about western culture in general.
Actually, there’s nothing new about the left romanticizing and politicizing mental illness. When I was in college (many years ago) a popular book was R.D. Laing’s “The Politics of Experience,” which argued that the category of mental illness is merely a social construct used to delegitimize certain beliefs. Anticipating, or perhaps reflecting, critical race theory, it argued that “sanity” is a social construct used by the powerful to marginalize and stigmatize certain beliefs.
Yes. Most of the mentals have been abusing drugs.
