Noem was right to focus on hospitalizations rather than going down the rabbit hole of testing. The media whipped up panic with its narrative that a positive COVID test means you should have your funeral home on speed dialand you will spread COVID to thousands unless you lock yourself on total quarantine. The testing being done in parking lots and other makeshift facilities and the processing of thousands of tests invites errors in a test that under ideal conditions has reportedly high rates of false positives. Even death rates have been skewed with a strange drop in deaths from cancer, heart attack and stroke dropping while supposed COVID deaths increased.
