I though hacking internet sites was a criminal activity. They know who did this. Will there charges or a civil suit against these horrible, evil people?

Trump never had a Gab account, this is BS.

Understood, but a lot of other people do, including you.
I posted this as a warning to us Gab users on FR.

True. It is an echo account, not used by Trump.

Yep, just changed my pw.
I don’t really have anything of particular interest to bad guys, anyway.

Trump never had a Gab account, this is BS. Of the purest kind of BS. But changing ones password is not a bad idea. Should be done from time to time anyway.

I don't either, and I'll defend every post I have.
My complaint is if Gab kept IP addresses on file. I don't want to have to make this personal with someone if I'm identified.

Usually they aren’t “hacked” in the traditional sense of the word. In Parler’s case there was a public API to their database, one that didn’t have any restrictions and didn’t require authentication, and the “hacker” simply discovered it and downloaded all their user data. It wasn’t even an illegal act.

The moron who wrote the article thinks Trump has a Gab account. He doesn’t. A little fact checking would have told him that.

We ARE talking about people who just stole the Presidential election in the most powerful national entity in the known universe....right?

Like typical leftards, they mix lies with truth in order to deceive (quote stolen from The Exorcist).
Any regular Gab user would know Trump isn't on Gab and does not have an account.

It’s been a long time, but I can speak as someone who use to admin/dev sites & platforms, and I would say it is very likely your IP was stored. It can typically be found in any logs for sign-ins, but they are also often kept to help verify identity against fraudulent login attempts.
