Exactly. Why would you ever give such a mixed message in a place that is totally reliant on DISCRETIONARY business activity?

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL: “You are not permitted in this resort town without a mask. It’s for your own good. COVID is dangerous!”

ME: “If it’s so dangerous in your town that I must wear hazmat gear, then it will be much cheaper and more convenient for me to simply go camping at my local landfill.”

Two people to enforce mask mandate on spring break?

They might not need more than 2. Many universities canceled spring break this year.

"...The Huchison's, from Illinois, said they're OK with security guards reminding people about the mask mandate. "I feel fortunate enough that if I'm being asked to wear a mask, I get to go sit at a restaurant, or do a little shopping, like we are right now," she said. "To me that's totally worth it, and you'd hope that others would do the same..."

Ahhh yes. The "Restaurant Loophole". You have to wear your mask in the restaurant unless you are sitting at your table. Then you don't have to wear one. (which makes sense, after all, because how could you eat?)

But think of all the people you must be infecting with your emissions that float magically in the air to be ingested by others for up to three hours (according to the "science")

See, you are protected because you are seated, but vulnerable on your feet.

Yeah. That makes all the sense in the world. And Leftists (the ones that make the mandates, and the ones who "believe" in them as this quoted tourist does) are "following the Science" with a capital "S".

It doesn’t happen to me often, but once in a great while I meet or see someone who I feel a deep, unexplainable revulsion to.

I often cannot explain it. But Fauci is one of those people. The first time I saw him and heard him, I felt that, and in his case, I came to see my gut reaction was valid.

Like Kary Mullis, I am suspicious of someone who is afraid to debate their point of view.

And like Kary Mullis, I do think there are a lot of sheep out there.

".... It was a great little place in the early 1970s, before we had kids and could travel a lot....."

I agree. My wife and I took a 5 day ski trip to Breckenridge from Richards-Gebaur AFB just south of Kansas City MO in 1971 where we were stationed in the Air Force. No kids or obligations to tie us down yet.

If I recall, there was a big football game that New Years's weekend we went to the slopes and we had them all to ourselves. No lift lines at all.

But alas, it was never the same after that.
