Trump Mulls White House Bid in CPAC Speech: "I May Even Decide to Beat Them for the Third Time"
Epoch Times ^ | 02/28/2021 | Jack Phillips

Former President Donald Trump delivered his first major speech after leaving office, charting a path forward for the Republican Party and conservatives but suggesting that he might run in 2024.

“I may even decide to beat them for the third time,” he said.

Trump said the conservative movement he created “is far from being over” but did not declare that he would try to run against for president in 2024. “There’s never been a journey more successful,” he remarked, adding that conservatives “will be victorious and stronger and greater than ever before.”

“The future of the Republican Party is as a party that defends the social, economic, and cultural interests and values of working American families—of every race, every color, and every creed. Republicans believe that the needs of everyday citizens must come first,” he said on Sunday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida.

Republicans over the next four years will be the bulwark against socialism, communism, and Biden administration policies.

“I’m going to continue to fight right by your side,” he said, adding that he won’t create a “brand new party,” adding: “I am not starting a new party.”

Trump has discussed privately running again for president in 2024, according to advisers. The former president has only delivered a few interviews to news outlets since he departed office in January.

“That’s going to be a decision he makes down the road,” Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“I think without question” the Republican Party remains the Trump party, his son Donald Trump Jr., told Fox News on Saturday. “I think you hear it from the voices. I think you see it in the speeches of others that are in government.

all i’m getting at is there’s something in what he said that everyone is missing...

maybe the military presence in dc has something more to do with what happened concerning the election than what we’re being led to believe...

good grief...

Did you complain about the coming vote fraud before the result was in? I doubt it. Did you hear about how illegal it was before the election for officials other than the legislatures to make voting laws.

While very few were warning what was gong to happen my guess is that you were one of the many who were putting the Alarmist’s down. The problem with people who are ignorant such as yourself is that you are never able to look at what is going on and figure out what is going to happen. Therefore the liberal progressives who are proactive get to beat you every time. Now they have the system so rigged they won’t even have to work at cheating anymore.

The war against cheating should have started long before the election. I warned about it before the election, and was struck down by people like you. Trump himself should have been leading that war. Not waiting until they stole the election from him to start crying about it.

Making it clear that he won’t use a third party strategy has reduced the number of challenges. The main challenge left on the table now is to redesign the Republican Party as that Trump-centric party that is required to put up a unified fight against globalism and force all of its support into one camp (the Democrats). This will take work. The swamp does not drain itself. Trump will need to get busy finding the right people to run for party executive positions, while at the same time posing credible threats to swamp type RINOs so they can self-exclude and save the people in the party from having to primary them out of office.

If the party doesn’t do all of that, then Trump staying in will just lead to another election campaign like the last one, not all forces pulling together, and not all elected Republicans willing to fight before, during or after the election for fair voting.

I see it as an uphill battle. Inertia is strong, and the Republican establishment can wait Trump out, unless he plans to live forever. Personally I think the dedicated party would have been the better choice, but whatever Trump decides is going to set the agenda for the time being, unless an even stronger anti-globalist champion emerges.

Possibly...but he did say he’s going to “actively” support good candidates. Which frankly is plenty enough before he or anyone else has decided to run or not...let alone TELL.

You , 2016.
"I’m not sure if anyone has noticed this yet or not, but in addition to Trump’s effective lambasting of the media, he is also doing significant damage to the GOP.

If he does this, he will effectively destroy any chance of a republican win regardless of who is nominated.

I really don’t know what Trump’s agenda is, but I’m having a REALLY hard time trusting him."

You're just another one of those people who just aren't too bright.

He used the word RINO, he deliberately said it meant Republican In Name Only, and he called out a list of RINOs in the house and senate.

Game ON.

>>> You’re just another one of those people who just aren’t too bright.

Well, lets see here... looks like I predicted Trump would destroy the GOP back in 2016....

And what do you know... the GOP is now dead. If you really think the GOP is going to win another election now, it is actually YOU who are not too bright.

To be fair, he didn’t do it the way I thought he would, but there are a LOT of people now who will not be voting GOP ever again after Jan 6 2021, including me. (actually, if he can survive to 2024 along with the country, maybe I will vote for Trump)

Trump’s greatest success was exposing how much of a sham our federal government and election system really is... but above all he exposed the GOP for what it really is... a bunch of traitors... and until they are put behind bars, I have ZERO confidence.

Only God can save us now.

oh.. and you can shove your personal attacks right up your arse.

As you can see the date has moved yet again. It went from January 20th to March 4th. Now it is the more open-ended “in a few weeks” - which would be beyond March 4th.

“I Hope for the best... but prepare for the worst.”

And your “preparations” consist of spreading despair and gloom?

“If he really had a Trump card to play, it’s looking to me like he didn’t play it. “

You’re expecting him to wave a magic wand and make it all better? It doesn’t work like that. He fought heroically for five years against a corrupt educational, media, political and governmental environment that was openly hostile to him. And all he had was us in his corner. Still he worked wonders, but he couldn’t win every battle. He finally lost one to the swamp, but we’re still here. And now it’s up to us to continue the MAGA agenda with his considerable strength on our side. That’s the only Trump card there ever was or ever will be, and it’s going to be a long, hard slog, with plenty of casualties, not least of which was Limbaugh.

The very last thing we need is doomsayers. I’m in Israel and broke, and all I can do is Hector sagging spirits. So consider yourself Hector-ed:

“Chin up. Never say die. We’ll get along.”—Charlie Chaplin at end of Modern Times. “Once more into the breach.” Shakespeare’s Henry IV, I forget which one.

Ron DeSantis

I'm reminded of the Batman movie with the Joker where he says, "I know the squealers when I see them, and..." (pointing at the squealer in the room).

That's what I feel when I look at Ron DeSantis.

Trump will be the nominee if they don't destroy/jail him before then.
