Trump Mulls White House Bid in CPAC Speech: "I May Even Decide to Beat Them for the Third Time"
Epoch Times ^ | 02/28/2021 | Jack Phillips

Former President Donald Trump delivered his first major speech after leaving office, charting a path forward for the Republican Party and conservatives but suggesting that he might run in 2024.

“I may even decide to beat them for the third time,” he said.

Trump said the conservative movement he created “is far from being over” but did not declare that he would try to run against for president in 2024. “There’s never been a journey more successful,” he remarked, adding that conservatives “will be victorious and stronger and greater than ever before.”

“The future of the Republican Party is as a party that defends the social, economic, and cultural interests and values of working American families—of every race, every color, and every creed. Republicans believe that the needs of everyday citizens must come first,” he said on Sunday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida.

Republicans over the next four years will be the bulwark against socialism, communism, and Biden administration policies.

“I’m going to continue to fight right by your side,” he said, adding that he won’t create a “brand new party,” adding: “I am not starting a new party.”

Trump has discussed privately running again for president in 2024, according to advisers. The former president has only delivered a few interviews to news outlets since he departed office in January.

“That’s going to be a decision he makes down the road,” Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel told CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“I think without question” the Republican Party remains the Trump party, his son Donald Trump Jr., told Fox News on Saturday. “I think you hear it from the voices. I think you see it in the speeches of others that are in government.

I don’t think Trump himself will be running, but he could no resist setting up a Cliffhanger for the Left to scramble over. He knows the power of drama and suspense.
Let them chew on that bone for a while!

He was favored by a mediocre 55% in this most Trumpian gathering.

Are you holding out for Teddy “Cancun Cruz” to run again? If so, good luck with that.

After displaying his utter lack of Leadership skills with his Trip to Cancun episode while his fellow Texans were freezing to death, Ted Cruz's hopes for the Oval Office have been shot to Hell!

Didn’t he appoint Kris Kobach to protect voting? What happened to that?

So, please show us an example of a conference where anyone got near 55% in a straw poll.

Is Trump God so that in a Constitutional Republic with 3 branches of Government, two of which are corrupt, he can waive a magic wand and pass a law(s) and enforce it/them all on his own?

Go away Troll!

You think that a group which favorably rates by about 95% but would only vote for him in a primary by 55% is a good prospect for another campaign??

More power to you.

More than that. Trump has a PAC.
By not showing his hand he will be able to continue to raise lots of money
for his PAC. And hopefully use it for MAGA value candidates in 2022.

You didn’t provide any proof for your assertion; you just dodged my question.

Rubio is an amnesty pimp, Scott (SC) said Trump was wrong to use force on the “protesters” who tried to burn down the church across from the White House, Thune blamed him for the Reichstag Riot, Blunt is Mitch’s toady and has never been on our side.

There are plenty of laws on the books allowing for the prosecution of voter fraud and he had four years in which to prosecute them. He didn't. If Trump lost last election due to vote fraud then he's partly to blame.

Always the nay-sayers.

Trump opened with “Miss me yet?” and got a thunderous response from the charged-up crowd. It was a Trump rally in every sense of the word.

Done? Trump is by no means done. He may have “lost”, in the sense the election was decided for somebody else, but for Donald J. Trump, this was not a “loss”, it was a learning experience.

OK, what did he learn? He said that the election would be rigged six months before the polls opened. Has he got a new strategy for dealing with that the next time around?
