Been watching a number of old talk shows from the early 70s. Amazing how many times the term "gay" was mentioned. Of course it was laughed at but the term was in use.
I believe it was the beginning of the "normalization" of the term and the chosen lifestyle.

It was around 1973 when the DSM was changed under pressure from the left to de-list homosexuality as a mental disorder.
