Why not join forces with friends and family who are in the same situation and take turns watching the children while the other parents go to work.
There are many stay home moms that can babysit and allow the children continue their school activities....

We brought our mid-twenties daughter home. She was lucky in that she kept he job but at a reduced salary. We moved her home gave her two room in the house one for an office. She still has to pay for her apartment and uses it occasionally, but we pay for her food and stuff. It has been really good for her and us. I also paid the bills for my two other children on a couple of occasions when they were locked down and could not work. To me that is what a family does, to others it's just my white privilege talking.
