Probably. It’s an inverse relationship. The more “green” energy you’ve got, the less actual energy you’ve got. Some people are okay with that

Poor liberal: “I’m freezing. But I feel good about myself.”
Rich liberal: “I’m not freezing because I’ve got expensive backup power. I feel good about myself too.”

Summary: If you think the Texas blackout was a problem, just wait.

” will double renewable energy and battery storage on the Xcel Energy Colorado system, providing customers with electricity derived from approximately 80% renewable sources while maintaining affordable and reliable energy service”

Big wind and big solar.
Expensive and need expensive backup coverage.

In other news, China is building 184 coal fired power plants this year.

“Green” energy . . . as long as you don’t account for the fossil required to produce the materials used in the manufacture, or the disposal of the highly contaminated waste that results when the batteries expire.

The Minneapolis-based monopoly - Xcel hopes to increase the value of its shareholders’ wealth (a massive $2.5 billion fuel-switching scam that will hurt rate payers) by shutting down two reliable, cost efficient, paid for coal fired units and replace them with intermittent, not reliable (not paid for yet) energy sources.

Xcel’s Energy Plan will help its shareholders : Not the ratepayers.
