Not a tough one...COVID-19 precautions highly effective against the far less contagious “regular flu” (R0 ~1.2 and COVID-19 R0 of ~2-3 with some estimates as high as 5).
At last—a voice of reason in the sea of conspiracy. Thank you.
Oh really?
Permit me to grant you insight into a personal situation:
I developed symptoms the morning of March 14th last year, upon which was the onset of severe illness later attributed to infection by SARS-CoV-2.
The DAY PRIOR to symptoms (’asymptomatic’, by your standard and that of Fauxi/Birx) I had a meeting around a table with 13 others, one of whom was a kidney transplant recipient who sat directly across from me.
Take a guess as to how many people at my workplace got ill.
Go ahead: Make my day.
Furthermore, I’m a vendor for a major local medical provider with hundreds of employees & patients, onsite multiple times a week (that week was no exception).
Take a wild guess as to how many cases were reported at that facility either in the weeks prior or after my illness (this was PRE lockdown or masking).
