The college was able to give out around 500 dollars to almost every student enrolled. This extra bit of motivation might be exactly what they needed to see.
“It makes me feel appreciated and heard because we haven’t really gotten any assistance initially but it finally feels like we are finally able to do what we are here for,” Hamilton said.
The money came from the federal department of education and can be used on anything from books to rent to food. Ashton Norton said when he found out he was both shocked and excited.
Two grand kids in college now, and only $’s come from parents, grandparents and a generous/caring uncle.

If you meet the following criteria you could qualify for Emergency Relief Funds as part of the CARES Act. Please complete the application NOW to make sure you are considered for these funds.
• Be an active when the application is reviewed by the committee (after 1/15/21)
• Be an active student active when the card is distributed.
• Students must have completed a 2020-21 FAFSA and have it on file with XYZZY College.
• The funds must be used on COVID related expenses.
The amount of funds awarded to each student will depend on the number of applications received. Students who have already received a disbursement are eligible to apply for this grant.
