‘’For many years, Germany has been held up as the world’s wind and solar capital.’’

But at what cost ... as the article says it is high ... so high that as many as 1.5 million households can not afford electricity and go without. They shut down their nuke plants when Japan had their huge accident and the cost shot up. This because of so few coal plants operable.

To cover their inconsistencies, just like California, Germany also has to import a lot of electricity from neighboring countries.

Not public knowledge, but I am aware of a wind farm that almost 20% of the turbines have cracked hubs. This is a design failure. The kicker is the German business they were purchased from, went out of business when government subsidies ran out. It will cost as much as the entire wind farm originally did, to just fix the hubs.
Aint green power grand?
