From what I read here, I doubt that the leftists are going to be the hardest on Cruz. Besides, since they would never vote for him in the first place, they will have little influence on whether he does or does not survive politically. Also, does he have 2, 4, or 6 years left to be served before his next election?

Unfortunately politics are not just Leftists and Conservatives - there are a big swath of airheads that fall in between and many who have voted for Cruz were looking for one reason to vote against him, and in Texas, Cruz had very little margin for error to begin with (we’re not West Virginia, or the Dakotas, where it’s 70/30 Republican, for example).

While these people are ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS as to what voting against Cruz means, some WILL vote against him now, and they are far more than enough to kick him out of office.
