A couple of weeks ago, Twitchy reported that Fairfax County, Virginia schools were looking for “monitors” to watch kids in a classroom while fully vaccinated teachers taught from home. Drew Wilder of NBC Washington reports that some students returned to the classroom Tuesday but were still learning virtually.
Some students returned to the classroom today in Fairfax County. These students at Annandale HS are in the building but still learning virtually. Each is in a different class with a different teacher who is teaching from home. One of FCPS’ new class monitors is in the room.

Apparently teachers are very fragile precious Snowflakes.
You need to watch this
Crazy. ND here. Our entire local school system has been 100% back to school since New Years. No problems. No complaints.
Probably a bunch of White racists doing Math...
LOL.
When they get home from school, their Mom and I make them sit down at the dinner table and do their homework. Or if it’s reading, sit in the living room and do the reading assignment before anything else happens. Work get completed before games.
Totally racist trying to set up good study/work habits that hopefully last a lifetime.
(And my wife is Native American Chippewa - she’s apparently totally raging racist too.)
Work ethic is racist, and your wife marrying you is like...quadruple racist.
One of my sons is back to in person school but his teachers are home and he simply logs in from school to join Zoom classes. Incredible.
Nice; now we pay even more for schools with live “monitors” and sleeping - I mean remote - “teachers”?
Just a thought: Since the students are learning from a video and not live classroom interaction; why don’t we take a page from the “Great Courses” program. This company found the best of the best of the best and recorded their college lectures; and make them available to the public at a fraction of the cost of tuition.
If we record the BEST teachers for every class from K-12; and use these in every school across the nation; we will achieve every goal of the NEA.
1. Every child will receive the exact same eduction.
2. No Teacher will be put in harms way by either a virus
or unruly student.
3. Educational funds would be freed up to improve
infrastructure, books, Arts programs, and tutoring.
Logically, if this idea is good with the current teachers; why not use the BEST?
That is a real problem, and it was a reality in colleges for some time; a “teaching assistant” enters the lecture hall and starts a recorded video presentation from an “esteemed professor”, and the colleges cut costs.
Some courses must be taught live; others are ripe for this type of instruction - and it started long before this ChiCom virus arrived.
Think about the potential for erasing the “underserved” mantra from minority communities if they have the exact same course materials - including instructors - as their lighter-skinned counterparts...
