If McCarthy had been able to clean out Hollywood following WWII, we wouldn’t be in the fix we are in now.
McCarthy had nothing to do with Hollywood. McCarthy chaired a Senate Committee investigating communism in the State department. It was a House of representatives committee that was investigating Hollywood. Our schools and our media have done such a terrible job of teaching history that most people think McCarthy went after Hollywood.
The communists in Hollywood were just the tip of the iceberg that one sees. It is/was the communists in the university system that taught the students of the 60s and afterward socialist and communist theory, doctrine and hatred of all that has made this country great. They followed the teachings of Lenin, Stalin, Gramnsy and other European communists, especially those who fled Hitler and were known as “The Frankfurt School.” They imbedded themselves in the elite and ivy league universities, with Columbia University being their main gathering point.
