Any other Texan leaving the state wouldnt even raise an eyebrow. Why cant a man take a vacation? What kind of sick bastard wants someone to suffer when the person can get out of a situation? .. dont be a hater just because you cant have something someone else has. Thats a sin called jealousy! It’s not envy. It’s incompetence. I hated how he treated Trump, and now I’m just leaving senator blank if he’s on it again.

Agree, but that wasn’t my point. It’s optics, and whether Cruz likes it or not, what little political future he had after his treatment of Trump is FINISHED. In fact, I can write the Democrat campaign ads right now, showing the beautiful beach in Cancun versus the Texans who were shivering.
If he were a private person, who cares, but as a person at that high of a level, he looks like a COMPLETE IDIOT. I mean, really, he could have simply checked with one of us Freepers to ask if pictures of him in Cancun would play well here.

We got Maxine Loony Waters who doesn’t even LIVE in the district she represents and lives in a mansion while her constituents live in the slums and no one says a word about that. But Cruz goes on vacation during a winter storm makes headlines.

Today I learned that Texas senators are powerless to do much of anything when their state goes to heck. If he ever came back from Mexico, how could we tell?
So our standard to look up to should be Waters?!? I understand that the media is corrupt, but c’mon.

I think we’re saying the same thing regarding Cruz. I mean, he could say (or think) something like “It’s not my fault if people are unprepared for things going bad”. But those are MOST PEOPLE, whether he likes it or not, and if wants to represent them, he sure as hell shouldn’t have copped that attitude about them. Life doesn’t work that way generally, and certainly not for Republicans. If Cruz cannot even figure out to NOT take a trip to Mexico while people in his state are literally freezing to death, it’s difficult to figure out how the hell he ever got to where he is.
(and yes, we’d be BLASTING any Democrat who did the same, as they would also deserve the same treatment as Cruz)

Ted is a Senator. He is not the Mayor, nor is he the Governor. There is only so much one Senator could do at this time. It is the instinct of any family man to protect his family. He should have stayed for a while in Mexico as planned.
Crux is a very very mixed bag
After 2012 I wanted him as POTUS bad
Then Trump came with more fight than we’d ever seen since Old Hickory
And Cruz accusing Trump supporters of being the rioters in Chicago was so over the top and a blatant lie but he said it anyway and then at times es saying he’d not support Trump
And now he’s been decent but not great on the Steal
A mixed bag to be sure....I already have my candidate for 24
Or like Bannon says Trump runs for Congress and becomes Republican leader and possible house majority leader and sets up for 2024

It’s circling the wagons, but something this DUMB is what could cost Republicans the entire state government. He’s now the poster-boy for the 2022 elections, when it should have a referendum on the people in DC.
