“Wind works all over the world.”
In your fevered imagination. When you run a coal plant you have it running at 85% to 90% capacity factor. Wind turbine capacity factors range from 25% to 52% The average 2018 capacity factor for projects built between 2014 and 2017 was 42%.
Sane people would not invest in any physical plant with such a crappy capacity factor. The only reason it “works” is tax subsidies. The subsidies are an immediate market distortion, but it’s even worse because the wind companies don’t have to build the storage required to make wind a reliable energy source. So you have an asset with crappy capacity factor AND it is unreliable to boot.
Please explain what “works” means to you.
You sound like a starry-eyed utopian 14 year old in your bedroom. You sure as hell are not an energy engineer.
Interesting. Tell that to the people of Iowa.
