A former winner on Food Network's Worst Cooks in America claimed in a bond hearing on Friday that her 3-year-old foster daughter Victoria Rose died after ingesting too much water.

Ariel Robinson, 29, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, appeared before a judge virtually on Friday and was denied her bail request of $40,000, according to Fox Carolina.

Ariel and her husband Jerry, 34, were both charged with homicide by child abuse in the death of Victoria Rose Smith on Jan. 14. Jerry did not appear in court on Friday.

Ariel remains in the Greenville County Detention Center, according to jail records found by The Greenville News.

Assistant Solicitor Christy Kednocker Sustakovitch did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Victoria Rose died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries, Greenville County senior deputy coroner Kent Dill told PEOPLE last month.

By definition, water is the least toxic substance. It can sill kill you, but it’s not necessarily easy to do.

I remember a soldier died in 2016 from drinking too much water; it dilutes your salts and such. Not easy to do, and probably not related to this case at all, but can happen.

I don’t remember the soldier case, but the one that I remember is a woman who was trying to win an Xbox for her children in some radio competition.

Dihydrogen monoxide poisoning.

It doesn't cause blunt force injuries, though. The monsters lied.

If the water was frozen, it might.

Dihydrogen Monoxide is dangerous.

Has it's own Material Data Safety Sheet.

American Beer is even safer. It won’t dilute your electrolytes.

Dihydrogen monoxide poisoning.
Serious stuff.

Even worse when carelessly mixed with Hydrogen Hydroxide. The pH will hit 7 if you aren't careful.

Let me think about that for a moment. OK, I thought about it. She’s a lying sack of something. Hopefully, both of them will be doing a lot of time.

Why are you people talking about drinking too much water.

The girl was beaten to death.

H2O is water. They are just saying it a different way to make it sound scary.

OTOH, I thought that you can “drown” by drinking too much water and it gets back into your lungs??
