My friend, a retired doctor, works at a free clinic “in the hood” as a charity work
They actually have vaccines to offer, given by the state to “address structural racism in health outcomes”. etc, etc..
He said no one is urgent to get the vaccine.
Here in NJ a couple of people have told me they got it by showing up unscheduled at places where many doses were unused; they don’t “keep”, so after the “preferred people” get them (medical staff, first responders, teachers, whatever), the leftovers are given out on a first come, first serve basis.
A LOT of people being offered this vaccine are declining; in the last couple of weeks I saw a headline that 40% of the L.A. firemen refused it when offered.
