OMG Not RHETORIC!!! The First Amendment never mentions RHETORIC especially EXTREME RHETORIC. Our forefathers never foresaw the dangers of rhetoric that did not have to be toned down before being flung out among the populace. Plus spewing is just a nasty habit and I am sure James Madison would not have approved for people taking such liberties with their rights.
Would that sort of extreme rhetoric include the phrase, “Give me liberty or give me death”?
