It’s a bit disorienting. As someone who was raised in a pro-life family and has supported and participated in pro-life action nearly my entire life, we could always count on the Vatican as a reliable pro-life ally. No more. Bergoglio’s full-spectrum leftism trumps whatever vestigial anti-abortion sentiment remained at the Holy See. It’s sad, but pro-lifers will carry on without their support.
