But we do know India as a nation is far from herd immunity," says Bhramar Mukherjee, a professor of biostatistics and epidemiology at the University of Michigan who has been closely tracking the pandemic. This is great news, as India would not likely time a drop in reported cases/deaths to a Zhou Bai Den benefit.
It’s essential to find out what they are doing that Europe, North America and South America aren’t doing. Indians are part of the Caucasian group, so it’s not just good genes - plausible if only Chinese had lower mortality.
Lack of obesity helps, but this is a change in rates of infection and mortality. Sunlight and diet are factors, but again, these were present while India’s numbers were much higher.
India cheated by using Ivermectin. If they played by Western rules they would have more people infected there than anywhere else in the world.

India is such a polluted, filthy stinkhole of a country, coronavirus didn’t stand a chance there.
I’ve been posting about India in my cheap therapeutics text block for weeks. It has been obvious that India is doing something right for months.

IANAD or public health professional, but my understanding is that technically, the vaccines are not “approved”, but rather have “emergency use authorizations.” These EUAs could only be granted if there were no available effective therapeutics. So the FedGov public health establishment had to refuse to recognize the efficacy of HCQ and Ivermectin-based therapies in order to be able to grant those EUAs. By doing this, they greatly increased the death and suffering due to Covid.
If we had a public health edifice that was worth anything, front line health care workers and public-facing store employees would be on Covid prophylaxis. The Federal public health agencies (FDA/NIH/CDC) have seemingly completely ignored cheap effective re-purposed therapeutics that could have significantly reduced deaths and transmission.

Like BobL said, they cheated and used HCQ and Ivermectic for very early stage treatment and therapeutics. Go look at the IndiaRx Ziverdo Kit link in my big post above and consider they are widely shipping out an under-$2 card of treatment meds/supplements that is effective. But it makes Big Pharma nothing . . .
I continue to think many, many more have had this thing than is reflected in the initial numbers. Heck, I think I may have had it back in mid-February ‘20, weeks before the initial big lockdown and grocery store mob scenes.

That sure does look like the root cause of the failure to take these sensible precautions in the USA, doesn’t it? The CDC, FDA and Fauci et al are all in on it and doing their bidding. There are hundreds of billions in vaccine revenue at stake, maybe several trillions. That’s a big motivator.
I hate to be so cynical about such a huge public health issue, but I can’t see it any other way with the facts at hand.
