David Perdue Files for Potential 2022 Senate Run against Raphael Warnock

Former Sen. David Perdue filed paperwork Monday to run against Sen. Raphael Warnock in 2022, after Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff narrowly defeated him in Georgia’s January runoff elections. Former Senator David Perdue at Georgia runoffs rally Senator David Perdue speaks at a campaign event on December 17, 2020 in Columbus, Georgia.

Perdue’s paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission notes his candidacy in the Senate race, and designated his political committee Perdue for Senate to be used for the 2022 election cycle. Anonymous sources close to Perdue told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the ex-senator had not made a final decision on whether or not to run, but is “leaning heavily towards it” and will likely make up his mind in the coming weeks.

Perdue’s former Senate seat won’t come up for reelection until 2026, but Warnock will run again in 2022 because he was elected to only finish out the term of former Sen. Johnny Isakson, who resigned in 2019 due to health concerns.

The Journal-Constitution reports Kelly Loeffler has considered running again against Warnock after he defeated her in January, as well as former Rep. Doug Collins, who also ran for Warnock’s Senate seat but did not make the runoffs. Perdue’s campaign sent a text message to supporters Monday night asking for donations and saying he was “considering” a 2022 Senate run.

With Stacey Abrams running for governor and Warnock in the senate race, the black vote turnout will be huge.

Also Kemp and Ratburger will be huge drag on the GOP ticket unless they are primaried out, so Perdue will find it tough.

You had me confused. Are you talking about the Libertarian that was running, Shane Hazel ?

True. But can Collins win statewide? He couldn’t even get support during the primary and was a spoiler for the general election BIG TIME. He has only ran in a very very very safe House seat and didn’t even have a challenger.

The main problem is that Perdue didn’t go balls-to-the-walls to fight what was clearly a stolen Senate race. He just “quietly” accepted the theft and this was the first time we’ve since heard from him.

No I was thinking Collins who was on the ballot in November making Loeffler not able to get over 50 percent. Wrong race.

She still wouldn’t have gotten over 50%, even without Collins. She got fewer votes overall than Perdue did in that fraudulent January runoff.

Well,if nothing is done to stop the asinine election fraud in that state, any Republican has very little chance.

the race is meaningless if they don’t get the voting system fixed in Georgia so that democrats can’t pump 100k votes into the ballot system any time they need them

Collins should’ve been the Senate nominee instead of Loeffler, but he failed to defeat her.

That's because the corrupt RINO, Gov. Kemp, took her money and appointed HER over Collins (Trump had championed Collins to Kemp, but he overid him) to serve as the Georgia Senator until the general election. Collins stayed in the race until he lost in the primary. Smelly Kelly had her billions and incumbency on her side.

Had Kemp selected Collins from the get go (as Trump wished) Georgia would have remained red.

All blame lands of Kemp!

No, you misunderstood me. Even had CCP-puppet Kemp picked Collins for the Senate vacancy instead of Loeffler, the outcome would’ve been the same. Both seats stolen and two VERY Stalinazi Satanist RED traitors occupying them.

Collins was incredibly ineffectual during his campaign. The idiot Perdue refused to debate Warnock, which is why I think he lost. That was a self induced error. Let’s move on to someone who can carry the MAGA agenda forward.

GA voters need to show up and vote, but also need to fix the signature verification. Abrams will try to cheat again in 2022.

Yeah, I don’t remember either of the GOPe Senators, Perdue or Loefller fighting for President Trump.

That is why they lost. Some Trump Supporters stayed home..

Collins would be great as Governor and would probably win. But if they don’t get rid of Abrams, her sister and mail in voting, it’s a lost cause.

Green needs a little more time to shed some of this BS that has surrounded her.

But the Georgi GOP is the textbook example of Country Club, RINO, GOPe good ol’ boys who are in the hip pockets of all the developers, farmers and chicken plant operators who love that cheap Mexican labor.

Now toss in money from the movie folks(Kemp) and the tech folks(Duncan) moving down here and it’s going to take some work to get Georgia right again

Nailed it. And Duncan is just as bad as all of them yet has been able to fly under the radar for most of it. He’s too busy raking in all that cash from the tech companies.

The people down here were beaten daily with talk that he was “too conservative” and that the party needed Loeffler to get the suburban woman vote. That clown Erickson pushed that every day, all day.

You know, because he’s the smartest guy on the planet. Just ask him.

Appreciate your excellent analysis of the complex political dynamics currently controlling Georgia politics.

Abrams’s influence is particularly problematic and it’s incredible that even her sister judge ruled in at least one voter registration case. How fair is that??!!!

And, I certainly hope Kemp is sent packing asap and the other entities you mentioned are successfully mitigated.

It’s essential that President Trump have a more favorable political environment, preferably led by Collins MAGA friendly agenda, to carry The Peach State OFFICIALLY in 2024!!!
