Your country is finished if Puerto Rico and DC get statehood.
It’s basically finished now.
The people there don’t want statehood because it means paying higher taxes.
Well...whats best for Puerto Rico? At this point I do believe statehood would be the best option to help those people. If the remain in their current state the democrat grifters from the Northeast will keep bleeding them dry.
Statehood generally finishes quite low when PR has voted on the issue.
They have to abolish the filibuster to get this passed, and Manchin/Sinema have already said “no” to abolishing the filibuster specifically for D.C. statehood, can’t imagine it’d be different for Puerto Rico.
"Puerto Rico voted for statehood in November, with 52 percent backing it and 47 percent against it."
One of the statehood requirements should be to drop Spanish
And THIS tells us all we need to know about why they want statehood.
BINGO!! They want MORE FREE STUFF!
Almost half the new state would pay more taxes and just over half would get more government handouts.
American citizenship is now a carefully constructed grift with no regards to civics.
No. No. Hell no!!!
If the Democrats can’t fix San Francisco they have no business messing with PR.
bump
Commonwealth status (the status quo) always wins when included on the ballot. The only way statehood eked out a narrow win last time is because the choices were limited between statehood and independence.
If this happens, trillions of our dollars will begin flowing into the island as reparations for the alleged discrimination. The whining and blaming of Anglos will never stop, no matter how many quadrillions of dollars are spent to appease them.
I want monetary recompense for being called “Anglo.”
You get to pay income and Social Security taxes, Governor.
Yippee!..............................
>>They have to abolish the filibuster to get this passed
You’re presuming the GOPee would fight it. What better way for them to ensure the good life of a permanent GOP minority.
